Reacting to "The Horrendous World of Helluva Boss Criticism" by DJWarner

Why are you am giving this video the time and day?

I recommend watching the video for yourself before reading my silly blog post but this is your choice. If you do not want to read everything because you dislike looking at screens for too long, I hope your browser as text to speech feature, or you can find websites that reads text out for you. Some videos clips might be louder than others, I listen to videos via a Bluetooth speaker so warning for headphone users. This video must be cursed because Blogger is not allowing me to upload videos or screenshots straight from my computer.💀 Skipping all the glazing, I do not want to feel like a donut after this, we are starting at 0:24 and ending at 1:24.
You know, it annoys me to no end when fandom overexaggerates common and valid criticism. Funny enough they never show screenshots of tweets or comments of people saying this, we just must take their word for it. Helluva Boss did abandon its premise. How did we get to wacky demons killing humans in season one to relationship drama in season 2? S1E7 HINTED at things between Stolas and Blitz changing but drops the drop by S2EP2 where they acting like Ozzie's did not happen. The Wikipedia page for Helluva says otherwise. Viv said the main focus will be "interpersonal relationships between characters" but we only get focus on Stolas and Blitz's relationships while other character dynamics do not get explored as much, hell Barbie Wire Blitz's TWIN SISTER only gets less than 10 minutes in her debut episode and is not mentioned until the last episode. She was never even seen in Mastermind where her brother was about to beheaded.
Also calling Helluva yaoi is valid. Yaoi (and its fans) tends to sideline or villainize female characters for getting in the way of their ship. I do not think people call it yaoi are saying because they are homophobic or whatever, some who say it who some favor of the rainbow.

The users in these screenshots are all LGBT, Jonah_Sunrise is bisexual demiman who goes by he/they pronouns, wispiicoatl goes by they/xe/any pronouns and is aroace, and C0URT_JESTER is an ace lesbian who goes by they/he. Are all these people homophobic now?

If a from a cishet straight person says it, I understand giving them the side eye
but if it is coming from another skittle, listening to them. No one is saying that queer woman cannot author stories about MLM romance or MLM characters. One of my favorite books, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda was written by Becky Albertalli who sadly had to out herself as bisexual because people thought she was straight. I only read Alice Oseman's book Loveless, but we cannot forget the immensely popular graphic novel and TV show Heartstoppers which focuses on a gay romance and is full of queer characters. Alice is aroace and goes by she/they pronouns. I never seen a single soul call those works yaoi, yet Helluva does, jeez I wonder why.

We are at 2:12 and holy shit, a point I agree with! The Hellaverse has a major tonal issue that needs to be addressed. You cannot have funny moment and BOOM! sad and serious moment back-to-back. Is this critical thinking at work?

She starts talking about Moxxie's characterization in Unhappy Campers at the 3:14 mark which I am going to skip. I only issue with how Moxxie acts in that episode is that he trying to get approval from teenagers at his big age. Being insecure is one thing but starting to feel insecure because a bunch of teens are mean to you is pathetic. If the teens outright bullying and being cruel to Moxxie or physical harming him like tying him up and having dragged him in the lake via a boat something crazy like that, I think it would have worked. Mooxie being jealous of his own wife who always been there for him and boosting up his confidence makes him come off as an asshole. Now, we are at the 4:57 mark which the start of the major criticisms.

There go her critical thinking skills, damn girl I had hopes for you. Muffinezo2's pinned tweet is a JOKE! He calls him a "hater" in quotes in his bio for fuck's sake. When people start taking it seriously, he said it slowly becoming as a of less joke which I have no idea if he still feels this way because the tweet was made back in 2023. Why are you calling people "psychopaths" for?

I just love how she just thinks that vivziereceipts's mega thread on Viv is a big nothing burger fill with discord screenshots because reading is too hard, I guess. Here is the thread for people who enjoy reading.   If you actually open the damn thing, the first in he was interviewed by passionfru.it.

Also the discord messages are cropped and only shows Viv's messages because the fandom loves going around harassing people who goes against their queen. Back in 2020, Viv's PFP was Blitz, the likely hood for those screenshots being real is high.

Are we just going to ignore KenDraw's testimony about Viv, someone who was friends with her for YEARS until the pilot came out. Ken just asked for be credited and Viv lost her marbles, calling them a monster and they are obsessed with credit. Some whatever reason, Viv thought Ken wanted the Hazbin IP because they did not sign legal documents faster enough. Viv forget that no one is going to say legal papers without a lawyer present and this was during at start of the 2020 pandemic. Cannot forget the Viv misgenders them during a convo with someone else.

This is going to be a long blog post, here is the album of screenshots of the stuff I am yapping about in this paragraph:

Are we going to ignore Viv calling the creator of Chikn Nuggit Kyra Kupesky a "cunt" and that she can "destroy her", Viv encouraging the fandom's nasty behavior of being assholes to others, her silence about Shay, a fan who took their life due to bullying, claiming that about Raph is a sexual abuse/assault survivor which is not the case, Salem an artist who worked on Helluva claims of misgendering, body shaming, and shit-talking other indie shows behind the scenes and not get credited for their work, Viv talking a tweet that calls her "haters" subhuman (imagine dehumanizing  a group of people who dislike a creator for sometimes very valid reasons), Viv putting the people who criticize her in the same camp who sent her cat snuff (which is fucking gross and awful) but later said it does not apply to people who are critical but critical people are on one's criticizing her ???? anyway cannot forget about the major one: Viv calling Ashley Nichols a sexual predator and spreading rumors that they were abusing Michael Kovach their partner at the time. This claim blew up like some of the quote tweets have 2 to 9 thousands likes and Viv did not make a statement about Ashley's claims about her spreading this nasty rumor (Viv still uses her Twitter account, there is no way in hell that she did not see none of it).

DJWarner, this is truly your first L.

People who criticize the show (any show for the matter) but have a dislike for the Viv (or another creator) are not being 'dumb', they are being biased. If you already dislike Viv as person, you are probably going to dislike the episodes she written. The whole thing about Brandon has a drop of truth to it. Brandon has been called a competent writer compared to Viv. People who say this are also take a turn holding the L. Viv and Brandon both co-wrote episodes in season 1 minus Ozzie's which was sole written by Viv and in my opinion the highlight of the season 1. Yes, Viv is the director who there is no proof of her saying "it is my way or the highway" to Brandon. The only time we knew her adding something that was not there in another writer's script was Adam Neylan's. He wrote Exes and Oohs but for some reason, Viv added the dildo wall scene which causes a MAJOR tonal issue.

Brandon only wrote one episode (Ghostfuckers), Adam wrote three episodes (Seeing Stars, Exes and Oohs, and Unhappy Campers), and Viv wrote seven episodes (The Circus, Western Energy, Oops, Mammon's Special, Apology Tour, Mastermind, and Sinsmas). Viv and Adam did co-write Full Moon, for whatever reason Viv and Brandon did not co-write for any season 2 episodes. We at this moment cannot tell how 'better' Brandon is at writing based off his only sole episode now. Viv wrote the Mammon Special and Oops which have been viewed as good episodes but has flops like The Circus, Western Energy, Mastermind. Two of Adam's episodes are flops (Seeing Stars and Unhappy Campers) and when Viv and Adam collab, they create an episode that is 80% filler and 20% plot.

Yes, it was Brandon's idea how Stolas being with Blitz, but he did not write any of the episodes focusing on their relationship and we have no idea what parts of the episodes about it were his ideas and that Viv added it to her scripts. I made it clear that I do not give a shit about Viv's old drawings either and dislike how people are trying to frame Viv as a pedophile either. One of these damn days I must make a video about this because I have too much to say. People mention that stuff from over a decade ago is the main reason people do not take the recent stuff Viv has done and said from 2019 to current year seriously. I am going to stick with criticizing the current 32-year-old Viv, and the 27–28-year-old from the discord screenshots from 2019 and not young adult Viv who's prefrontal cortex was not fully development.

Anyone who harass Viv, makes fun of her appearance, calls a bitch and cunt needs eat that sweet green grass instead of touching it. I always have the opinion of if talking about Viv and the Hellaverse makes you angry and effects your mental health, just stop. No one is forcing you and focusing on stuff that makes you happy. Typing about the demon shows brings me joy so that is why I am still here. If I started to get bored of it, I am going to stop talking about the shows and focus on something else.

I wished the pilot was stated not to be canon when episode 1 dropped. In recent years, the cartoon community have viewing pilots as canon and a part of the main series (this mainly happens with online shows because tv show pilots are never showed to be public and only get find and posted online by anonymous people and sometimes by their creator if they have it but this is rare).  It does not help that Viv decanonize the pilot years after the fact and there is callbacks to the pilot like in Oops. Hazbin has this issue to where certain parts are canon but some parts are not?????  TADC's pilot is now the its first episode and the show is still about people trapped in digital circus. Steven Universe's plot still carries the vibe of the main series but has characterization changes and art style changed. Adventure Time's pilot was pitched to Nickelodeon before it was picked up by Cartoon Network so we have no idea if it would have been the same show. I have not watched AT in years but I know the intro hints at the world being more dark and not sunshine and silly rainbows, and Bojack started as the typical adult animated show because the showrunners are not promise a season two at first until it premiered. Helluva becoming a episodic to serialize does not happen naturally. Ozzie's in the only episode in season one that hints at this, the start of season two is episodic but after Full Moon it becomes the Stolas and Blitz show out of nowhere. It is not a seamless blend and more like a bumping ride. The only characters that got fleshed out in Blitz's life was Mooxie. Millie still has no character out of Mooxie's wife who is a killing machine and Loona who was silent for the majority of season two. The first time in a while that we see Loona and Millie started to each other was about the men in their lives in GF. Loona find friends happens off screen.

Blitz being the main character does not excuse the lack of focus on the other characters. SU gets criticized for the writing rules the crew had where if Steven is not there, we the audience does not get to see it which harmed in the show in some places. We do not need to be told over and over that Blitz burns bridges with people, AT, and GF hits us over the head with this like OKAY! Focus on something else. We have all these damn characters, let them have time to shine.

Who in the fuck is claiming that 'romance has no merit'? Most popular and well-known shows have romance?? The Owl House was one of the biggest LGBT kid shows and had a romance plot between Luz and Amity and SU had romance in it has well, Garnet is a symbol of Ruby's and Sapphire's love, Pearl's undying love for Rose (they whole dynamic is messy with the power imbalance at all. Fandoms in general have become obsessed with romance and shipping even adding to shows that do not have it like TADC. The fandom is all about who is kissing who and who is the top and bottom in bed when talking about these characters instead of their actual character. I am aroace who is romance-indifferent, but I fucking eat romance like a madman. Some of my favorite books, (I kept bring up books because I actually read literature, not fanfics. No hate towards fanfics writers but please engage in professional writing occasionally). Openly Straight and Honestly Ben by Bill Konigsberg are about the very messy relationship between Rafe and Ben, the One of Us Is Lying series by Karen M. McManus has small moments of romance and other relationship dynamics in the first book that falls into spoiler territory. Stolitz on paper would have worked if Stolas' flaws were pointed out. Stolas calls Blitz pet names, calling him his impish plaything, and fetishizing him for being an imp, he was holding a book called 'Imps: in the sheets" at the end of Harvest Moon.

Take the drawing of Blitz in his book. Blitz has hair similar to the wig he had on in Seeing Stars, has a muscular built, and is not drawn with his scars. His view of Blitz is distorted, he loves the idea of Blitz not him as a person. If Stolas truly loved Blitz, he would have drawn him how he actually looks. He even calls their relationship a 'fantasy', how is this romantic?

I love it when fans say the 'haters' are girlbossing Stella but have no issue with Val fans treating him like a quirky silly guy even though he is a rapist. She is an abuser, just a poorly written one I also hate the point of "If you hate Stolas, you hate male victims" like what?????? You can dislike a character who is a victim of something. So if someone dislike Angel, does the mean they like the fact he gets abused on the daily? NO! If you do find joy in the characters you dislike suffering, that is weird and reminds me of those anti Johnny Test drawings you would find on DeviantArt back in the day.

*coughs*

I already mentioned the book at the end of FM. It would be like a White man who is interested in a Black man starts was reading some bullshit book about big Black dicks are and how hypersexual Black man are. Stolas always mentions that Blitz is an imp like he gets off to the fact that he is one. For another real life example, it would be weird as shit to say  'you are a kinky little Latina' when you are about or thinking that you are going to have sex with that person.

Transactional sex??? Bruh, this is sexual coercion. If Blitz does not have sex with Stolas on the full moon, he cannot use the Grimoire anymore. Without the Grimoire, Blitz cannot keep IMP running, they would have to go out of business, everyone loses their job, and have the possibility of ending up on the streets. Why does people in fandom not know what words mean!? Blitz is not a sex worker.

Blitz was flirting with Stolas to distracted him to get the book, like did you miss the moment where the camera pans to the Grimoire or how Blitz's slams Stolas' body right where it is so it can fall?

Blitz felt bad for Stolas because clearly he is sex starved, he was forced to marry a woman as a gay man. He said that 'he craved this kind of passion' and 'how much it means to him that someone want him'.
Stolas calls Blitz a 'plaything' in the same episode! Anyway, Blitz using Stolas just to spy on Millie and Mooxie is messed up on his part. Blitz's obsession with the M&Ms' relationship is just weird, I am glad it dropped in season two. It would been better he was just jealous of not being in a lovely relationship and not wanting to fuck the both of them.

I am done talking about Stolas and Blitz's relationship, personally it makes me wanna take a nap thinking about it and Blitz and Stolas are boring as characters to talk about. I did watched 14:39-18:58 and yes this is a weird thing to say out of no where.

Skipping the character design part at 19:00-25:06 because I REALLY want to make a breakdown video about the Hellaverse characters designs and skipping the Cursing and Sex Jokes section at the 25:07-27:40 mark because I do not really care. My issue with how swear words are used is unnatural with too many swears being added to a sentence and the sex jokes are just dick jokes which rarely funny but it is hard to produce new sex jokes. Hellaverse is not really all that funny when it comes to verbal humor anyway, the best joke to me is Niffty freezing up at the sight of a camera in episode one and again in episode eight when she is interviewed after killing Adam.

Millie has no personality outside of Moxxie's wife who is killing machine. She does everything for Moxxie as well, the woman is hooked to her relationship with a man. She does not stand on her as a character. Millie is not a supporting cast member, what the actual fuck. She was featured in the pitch bible for Helluva, she has been around since the beginning. She appears in more episodes than Fizz, a character fits the supporting role but has two episodes focusing on him about his struggles, his abusive dynamic with Mammon, and his relationship with Ozzie.

Final Thoughts

This video is like a poptart, it tastes good but is full of empty calories. DrWarner glossing over vivziereceipts's thread just made my eyes roll. I wish the video stuck to the writing criticism of the show, the character design section would have been saved for another day because it messes with the flow on the video, and the swearing and sex joke section would have been at the start of this video. I wished she shown screenshots of people's criticism or clips from videos for her points, it feels like she is smashing multiple opinions made by different people into one for her arguments. Same goes with critical accounts (no, faceless accounts that ends with numbers and people who harass fans does not count) allegedly acting badly even it comes to Viv, show me the screenshots. This video feels like it was made with stans and fans already view critics all under the same light in mind which is pretty sad.

The Sociology assignment with mentions Hazbin Hotel

These was originally submitted for my Sociology class. "You use Hazbin for a college assignment?" Yes, this is not my first time doing this. I know Hazbin like the back of my hand, so it is easy to use for assignments.

This is not just strictly about Hazbin. Some sections were edited and the original version had screenshots of the season two leaks. Screenshots of the leaks would not show here because I do not want to put my blog at risk, but some plot points will be mentioned.

The Hellaverse and Kinks

I am surprised this poster as not becoming official merch yet. /j

I might be in sex-repulsed asexual, but I am a sex positive person. Kinks and BDSM are topics I like to do research on. Viv has said that she respects BDSM and its culture in one of her responses to the episode four backlash. Her saying "kinks do no harm" is laughable. Kinks can be harmful mentally if someone develops obsessive thoughts about it. Kinks can physically if done in an unsafe manner. CBT can cause testicular issues, sounding can cause infections, wax play can cause severe burns. Those kinks do fall under risk-aware consensual kink [RACK].

I am going to talk about Hazbin first. The first-time sexual actives are seen is during Happy Day in Hell where Charlie by mistakes seeing a dom having dry humping a sub. The sub has a gimp mask on with a ball gag in their mouth, the dom has a body and mouth harness on, and there are sex toys in the background. typical stuff. The dom has x nipple pasties, and the sub has their pants on which can look weird for an adult show on a huge streaming service. Pasties have a history in BDSM circles. Where in some public ventures or clubs, there can be policy that nudity has to be covered up when doing explicit sexual acts. It is unknown if this in a dungeon or club or in the privacy of their own home.

BDSM is showed again in episode three when Angel Dust brings the Hotel gang to a BDSM dungeon. Angel is right that BDSM is about trust. Mutal consent is important key to BDSM, came goes with save words. Back to the dungeon, typical BDSM items are shown. There are two imps playfully running around with one holding a spanking paddle with the three hearts which is a common design. Suspension bondage is showed with that cyan wolf hanging from the ceiling.

Charlie being uncomfortable during this scene has been criticized.
I have no issue with the idea of her being uncomfortable because she was put into a sexual environment with knowing beforehand. Given Vaggie's "What the actual fuck" reaction, this is probably the case. It would been nice to a line of her saying that she supports this lifestyle, but it is not for her, or she likes practicing BDSM but in the private and not with other people around.

The Hellaverse, men are allowed to be over the type sexual, but the woman do not get the same treatment. Charlie and Vaggie's relationship have been labeled being "sexless", it does not help that Vaggie telling Angel "What makes you think anyone would be into this?" Is Viv's [currently] only sapphic couple vanilla? That is lame.

I dislike the scene with Niffy being played as a joke, again woman being sexual in the shows is rare.  Charlie becoming more uncomfortable when the members of the dungeon stated to surrounded her, which is 100% valid. She is in a monogamous relationship and said nothing about wanting to join.

In episode four is the first time we see a character naked during a non-consensual scene. We all known all the "films" Angel stars in that he does not consent them because his soul is own by Val.

These two background characters are a funny oddity. Where is this woman's ass crack? She looks like she got a diaper on. If I can see SpongeBob's whole ass, why not hers?

Where is the man's dick? They could have given him a bulge, Spindlehorse has no issues with showing them in Exes and Ohs. Also, that "oil" does not look like oil, lmao.

On the topic of Angel as a sex worker. I mentioned this time to time, but will he continue doing sex work [in a consensual manner of course] when he is redeemed and allowed into Heaven? We have not seen a lot of Heaven yet but if sex work does not exist in Heaven, that is a huge problem. Sex work is still being demonized in modern society. I am not saying the porn industry should not be criticize, it is a predatory industry. I dislike websites like Pornhub and support adults making their own content without the help of mangers [which are just pimps but just for the internet] or signing a contract with a porn studio. Whenever Angel gets into Heaven, I hope he is still a sex work and is finally allowed to have a healthy relationship with it.

I am going to show a section from ponett's Hazbin review.

Time to talk about Hazbin's sister show. When the second short, Mission: Antartica was released. The only thing fans were talking about how Blitz is a bad top or that hand sucking scene. Look, when people using the terms 'top' and 'bottom' is this fandom, it makes me cringe. It always gives me Seme and Uke vibes. Fans only use those terms when referring to the male character does not help.

I am going to share a section from Madeline Maye's video about Apology Tour.

Helluva has the warp mindset is that people who enjoy casual sex/hookups, are promiscuous, not in a monogamous committed relationship are bad at sex or broken people. In Mission: Antartica, Blitz is viewed as bad top because he is not a relationship like Moxxie and Millie's who are married. Blitz, the single person, had a hobby of stalking them and fantasizing about having a threesome with them. Blitz has trauma from destroying past relationships and in Ghostfuckers, he was in a depressive state due to losing he "relationship" he had with Stolas.  Stolas and Blitz are seen as "end game" and if this show ends with Blitz becoming "happy" because he is a relationship with Stolas, that would be wack. Being in a romantic and/or sexual relationship will not solve your personal issues.

I am going to link pinkandpurple360's response to my original post. Ozzie being monogamous makes no sense because he is the King of Lust! He could be in a relationship with Fizz while having multiple partners. There are other different types of polyamorous relationships. In Full Moon, Blitz is shopping in Lust rings for some sex toys to spice up the bedroom. The Cherubs are horrified by what they see. I am crossing my fingers that the Cherubs are just prudes and that not all of Heaven is not like them.

Mini Lucifer Analysis

Time to talk about Charlie's short ass father.

I am going to get one critique I see people bring up out the way is Lucifer's characterization changed from show to the pilot which is not true. People use this shot from the pilot as an example that Lucifer was more of an asshole dad than a Bumbling Dad

This shot from Charlie's perspective. I am not saying he is a perfect father; he is emotional neglectful father. If we ever get a flashback of Charlie pitching the idea of the Hotel to him, he probably made an insensitive comment, laughed in her face, or downright rude to her thinking that her idea was a waste of time due to his strong dislike of Sinners. Back to his characterization, just look like old art Viv made in the past. He is certified silly goofy little guy [/j].

Let's start with:

The Storybook

According to the book, Lucifer is labeled a dreamer who had fantastical ideas. The elders of Heaven viewed him as a troublemaker and as a threat. The other angels start creating universe, leaving his ass in the dust. Lucifer and Lilith met each other because her and Adam did not get along, which is accurate. In Jewish lore, Lilith and Adam hated each other from the start. L & L realized 'Wow, we are like both dreamers and stuff' and they had the idea of Free Will.

When Eve was made to replace Lilith as Adam's wife, they went to her to give her the Fruit of Knowledge, but it backfired, badly. Evil infects the Earth and Hell was created due to this. The elders were not happy and has a punishment sent L & L to Hell. Due to his actions, Lucifer only sees the worst of humanity which made him lose his will to dream unlike Lilith who was thriving in Hell like a badass bitch and used her singing to empower demons.

Look, I think that the story is full of half-truths, Lilith and Lucifer wrote it for Charlie. Until we see flashbacks of Lucifer's time as an angel, what truly happen in the Garden of Eden, why did Lilith made a deal with Adam, and what in the world happened to Eve, I am not taking that storybook at face value.

His Design

One word comes to mind, wack. This man has negative dip. His color scheme it is just white on top of white. His skin is white, his coat is white, his pants are white, and his fucking top hat is white. UGH. It is it just too much. White should never the majority of a color scheme, it would be an accent color like think room molding. Even his waistcoat has white stripes on it. I know his surname means 'Light brighter' but that does not mean my eyes should be watering when looking at him for too long.

He also got those damn shoulder pads, but he should be the only character to have them, same goes for the top hat to try to make himself 'look bigger and taller because he is 5'2. He already wearing boots to make himself look taller, so it makes sense. Speaking of boots, Lucifer clearly tucks his pants into them like what you are supposed to do, I am 5'1 and I tuck my pants into my boots. The reason I am being this up because I saw some said his legs look off like no, that is just his pants bunching up.

His head shape is just funny, he is like a puppet, Goofy looking ass.

I did an quick sketch of my take on his design. Removed the buttons across his chest because his waistcoat has vertical stripes and the buttons are horizontal. Editing his color scheme gave me a run for my money due to all the white. Remove those shoulder pads because even though I said he should be the only character to have them.

Lucifer only looks young for someone who has been around for 10,000+ years. You would think all of stress and the mental toll of being the King of Hell would have aged him a bit, but he is immortal. Lucifer looks like Charlie's younger brother, not her whole ass father and her being 6'6 does not help. There are people who are taller than their parents in real life, but the parent[s] still looks old/their age.

He only looks 'old' is when looking at Alastor which is understandable. I make similar expressions whenever Alastor is on screen, he is hideous as fuck.

Speaking of looks, in universe [and out for many], he is seen has a 'Pretty Boy' due to his angelic roots. Mimzy becomes awestruck when she lays eyes on him and even Niffty wanted a taste of him.

Lucifer to me is an ugly cute. He is very silly looking, I am sorry. I like Lucifer but I do not view him as aesthetically attractive in Viv's art style. I do not find characters who are unrealistic skinny as aesthetic pleasing, give my man some organs. [/lhj] He looks better when people draw him with a realistic slim body type. I also like when people draw him with a little bit of chub, weight gain is not uncommon for people with depression. I am going to sound crazy [because I am, same with being cringe] but instead of his body being apple core shaded, the apple motif should have been his ass, or his body type could have been apple shape.

I do dislike how fans infantilize him [the same thing happens to Niffty with people thinking she is a child and not a woman in her early 20s], short does not equal child/childlike, that is creepy. It does not help that Lucifer is autistic-coded. He hyper fixations on rubber ducks, a product that is associated with young children. I do not know if this coding was intentional or not, but I know autistic traits when I see them. He is socially awkward over the phone and when interacting with the hotel residents and employees, and when trying to trash talk Adam, he mixes up 'Fuck you' with 'Fuck you up' and was confused when Charlie corrected him. This is me projecting but he makes the most awkward facial expressions when in conversations with people. I do the same exact thing; Lucifer is like me for real.

Onto the topic of:

His depression

The only reason I am bringing this up because apparently there are some who say he is not???

Even though the line "Take that Depression" is pure quirky millennial type humor or something those 'Common White Girl' twitter accounts would say, the show outright says he has it. Like come y'all, do not be stupid.

The scene was already doing 'Show, not Tell'.  Lucifer is alone in a dimly lit room, talking to himself and was harsh on himself after creating his flipping rubber ducks that splits fire, and became sad when looking at the family portrait. Like there is something clearly "off" with him.

Speaking of rubber ducks, his 'silly duck man' shtick is something I do not have an issue with. Maybe because I like to surround myself with merch of my favorite franchises but there is a difference between collector and a hoarder.  Lucifer is a hoarder; those rubber ducks are in very corner of his craft room, there is just piles of them.

He creates rubber ducks as a form of coping with his depression that got worst due to Lilith and him splitting up [it was probably not mutual because he still is wearing his wedding ring], he became a recluse and isolated himself from his duties at the king and from his own daughter, only calling her out of boredom or he needs her to do something for him like sending her to the meeting with Adam and Lute even though Adam requested him. Forgetfulness can be a sign of depression, Lucifer was clearly not up to date with his daughter's life, not knowing that she was in a relationship with Vaggie and forgot all about the hotel.

The rubber ducks probably pop up when Lilith left to do whatever she is doing in Heaven because his craft room was rubber duck free during 'Move than Anything'. There is empty martini glass on the floor too, this can mean that Lucifer could be using alcohol is a form of coping as well. I hope and pray that his coping mechanisms come up in Season 2 because he is now living at the hotel. Charlie probably knows that he likes them. The profile pic for Lucifer in her phone is rubber duck wearing his top and his bowtie. I wonder if she knows how bad his hoarding truly got after her mother left or that he is a hoarder at all.

Lucifer also dissociates when no one is interacting or talking directly to him. After 'Hell's Greatest Dad', he looks mentally just out of it. Sir P is right next to him, but does Lucifer is too "busy" looking at his cane to even acknowledge Sir P's existence. He jumps with Mimzy walks up to him and default poses like a video game character when he notices her.

He also at point stopped paying attention during Charlie and Vaggie's tour of the hotel. Lucifer is like me for real for real.

People have an issue on how 'nice' or how much of a doormat he is, he is the devil™ after all. Take his interactions with Al, Lucifer is the most powerful being of Hell and could easily ripped Al to shreds without feeling remorse but does not. Why? because he knows [and hates the fact] that Charlie cares for Al. He tolerates Al out of fear of rejection from Charlie.

Lucifer does have a dark side that he keeps under wraps like the man went crazy and started giving Adam a pure fucking ass beating even though beforehand he was just being playful and not taking Adam seriously. He was about to give him the final blow, but Charlie stopped him.

I always question why Lucifer knows how to fight until Charlie. This is just a random ass thought that popped into my head one night. Maybe he had a fight for his life during his banishment when Elders found out what he did in Eden and sending him to Hell. Lucifer has trauma from his fell [maybe even before that since he was labelled a "troublemaker" when he was a seraph] and does not want Charlie to have her hopes and dreams crushed by those same higher ups.

I would not be surprised if there will be a scene in Season 2, 3, or even 4 of Lucifer having a PTSD attack after seeing something that reminds him of his fell. Viv is a fan of BoJack Horseman and from clips I have seen, it does features scenes of character having panic attacks or reliving their trauma. I am not joking, I will eat a spoonful of country time lemonade drink mix if a moment like that does not happen at all for Lucifer and I will make a nice glass a lemonade if it does happen.

Lucifer is at the top of the class system which means he is the person who put that in space. This is very evil of him but good because he is the devil™ after all. It is probably close or based off the Heaven’s hierarchy, something he was used for eons before his fall. The only issue is why are hell born [Imps and Hellhounds] placed at the bottom.  Lucifer was nice enough to spare their lives in the extermination but maybe he came up with rule so Charlie would not have a target on her head every year.

Imps struggle to open up their own businesses and Hellhounds are seen as pets while Sinners are allowed to become powerful overlords and own the souls, have successful businesses, and even though Overlords were awful during the human lives, they are now living their 'best' afterlives and are still causing harm regular Sinners. Just a small lore rewrite, but I would have made Overlords hell born too. I should write a post about how confusing the lore is, that will take forever though, it is all over the place like holy fuck.

I touched on Charlie's relationship with her day in her post. I want to do a true deep drive on their relationship in a separate post in the future, same goes with making a post on his dynamic with Alastor.
Have a nice day or night, whatever.
