Also calling Helluva yaoi is valid. Yaoi (and its fans) tends to sideline or villainize female characters for getting in the way of their ship. I do not think people call it yaoi are saying because they are homophobic or whatever, some who say it who some favor of the rainbow.
The users in these screenshots are all LGBT, Jonah_Sunrise
is bisexual demiman who goes by he/they pronouns, wispiicoatl goes by
they/xe/any pronouns and is aroace, and C0URT_JESTER is an ace lesbian who
goes by they/he. Are all these people homophobic now?
If a from a cishet straight person says it, I
understand giving them the side eye
but if it is coming from another skittle, listening to them. No one is saying
that queer woman cannot author stories about MLM romance or MLM characters. One
of my favorite books, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda was written by
Becky Albertalli who sadly had to out herself as bisexual because people
thought she was straight. I only read Alice Oseman's book Loveless, but we
cannot forget the immensely popular graphic novel and TV show Heartstoppers
which focuses on a gay romance and is full of queer characters. Alice is
aroace and goes by she/they pronouns. I never seen a single soul call those
works yaoi, yet Helluva does, jeez I wonder why.
We are at 2:12 and holy shit, a point I agree with! The
Hellaverse has a major tonal issue that needs to be addressed. You cannot have
funny moment and BOOM! sad and serious moment back-to-back. Is this critical
thinking at work?
She starts talking about
Moxxie's characterization in Unhappy Campers at the 3:14 mark which I
am going to skip. I only issue with how Moxxie acts in that episode is that he
trying to get approval from teenagers at his big age. Being insecure is one
thing but starting to feel insecure because a bunch of teens are mean to you is
pathetic. If the teens outright bullying and being cruel to Moxxie
or physical harming him like tying him up and having dragged
him in the lake via a boat something crazy like that, I think it would have
worked. Mooxie being jealous of his own wife who always been there for him and
boosting up his confidence makes him come off as an
asshole. Now, we are at the 4:57 mark which the start of the major
criticisms.
There go her critical thinking skills, damn girl I had hopes
for you. Muffinezo2's pinned tweet is a JOKE! He calls him a "hater"
in quotes in his bio for fuck's sake. When people start taking it seriously, he
said it slowly becoming as a of less joke which I have no idea if he still
feels this way because the tweet was made back in 2023. Why are you calling
people "psychopaths" for?
I just love how she just thinks that vivziereceipts's mega
thread on Viv is a big nothing burger fill with discord screenshots because
reading is too hard, I guess. Here is the thread for people who enjoy
reading. If you actually open the damn thing, the first in
he was interviewed by passionfru.it.
People who criticize the show (any show for the matter) but have a dislike for
the Viv (or another creator) are not being 'dumb', they are being biased. If
you already dislike Viv as person, you are probably going to dislike the
episodes she written. The whole thing about Brandon has a drop of truth to it.
Brandon has been called a competent writer compared to Viv. People who say this
are also take a turn holding the L. Viv and Brandon both co-wrote episodes in
season 1 minus Ozzie's which was sole written by Viv and in my opinion the
highlight of the season 1. Yes, Viv is the director who there is no proof of
her saying "it is my way or the highway" to Brandon. The only time we
knew her adding something that was not there in another writer's script was
Adam Neylan's. He wrote Exes and Oohs but for some reason, Viv added the dildo
wall scene which causes a MAJOR tonal issue.
Brandon only wrote one episode (Ghostfuckers), Adam wrote
three episodes (Seeing Stars, Exes and Oohs, and Unhappy Campers), and Viv
wrote seven episodes (The Circus, Western Energy, Oops, Mammon's Special,
Apology Tour, Mastermind, and Sinsmas). Viv and Adam did co-write Full Moon,
for whatever reason Viv and Brandon did not co-write for any season 2 episodes.
We at this moment cannot tell how 'better' Brandon is at writing based off his
only sole episode now. Viv wrote the Mammon Special and Oops which have been
viewed as good episodes but has flops like The Circus, Western Energy,
Mastermind. Two of Adam's episodes are flops (Seeing Stars and Unhappy Campers)
and when Viv and Adam collab, they create an episode that is 80% filler and 20%
plot.
Yes, it was Brandon's idea how Stolas being with Blitz, but he did not write any of the episodes focusing on their relationship and we have no idea what parts of the episodes about it were his ideas and that Viv added it to her scripts. I made it clear that I do not give a shit about Viv's old drawings either and dislike how people are trying to frame Viv as a pedophile either. One of these damn days I must make a video about this because I have too much to say. People mention that stuff from over a decade ago is the main reason people do not take the recent stuff Viv has done and said from 2019 to current year seriously. I am going to stick with criticizing the current 32-year-old Viv, and the 27–28-year-old from the discord screenshots from 2019 and not young adult Viv who's prefrontal cortex was not fully development.
Anyone who harass Viv, makes fun of her appearance, calls a
bitch and cunt needs eat that sweet green grass instead of touching it. I
always have the opinion of if talking about Viv and the Hellaverse makes you
angry and effects your mental health, just stop. No one is forcing you and focusing
on stuff that makes you happy. Typing about the demon shows brings me joy so
that is why I am still here. If I started to get bored of it, I am going to
stop talking about the shows and focus on something else.
I wished the pilot was stated not to be canon when episode 1 dropped. In recent years, the cartoon community have viewing pilots as canon and a part of the main series (this mainly happens with online shows because tv show pilots are never showed to be public and only get find and posted online by anonymous people and sometimes by their creator if they have it but this is rare). It does not help that Viv decanonize the pilot years after the fact and there is callbacks to the pilot like in Oops. Hazbin has this issue to where certain parts are canon but some parts are not????? TADC's pilot is now the its first episode and the show is still about people trapped in digital circus. Steven Universe's plot still carries the vibe of the main series but has characterization changes and art style changed. Adventure Time's pilot was pitched to Nickelodeon before it was picked up by Cartoon Network so we have no idea if it would have been the same show. I have not watched AT in years but I know the intro hints at the world being more dark and not sunshine and silly rainbows, and Bojack started as the typical adult animated show because the showrunners are not promise a season two at first until it premiered. Helluva becoming a episodic to serialize does not happen naturally. Ozzie's in the only episode in season one that hints at this, the start of season two is episodic but after Full Moon it becomes the Stolas and Blitz show out of nowhere. It is not a seamless blend and more like a bumping ride. The only characters that got fleshed out in Blitz's life was Mooxie. Millie still has no character out of Mooxie's wife who is a killing machine and Loona who was silent for the majority of season two. The first time in a while that we see Loona and Millie started to each other was about the men in their lives in GF. Loona find friends happens off screen.
Blitz being the main character does not excuse the lack of
focus on the other characters. SU gets criticized for the writing rules
the crew had where if Steven is not there, we the audience does not get to see
it which harmed in the show in some places. We do not need to be told over and
over that Blitz burns bridges with people, AT, and GF hits us over the head
with this like OKAY! Focus on something else. We have all these damn
characters, let them have time to shine.
Who in the fuck is claiming that 'romance has no merit'?
Most popular and well-known shows have romance?? The Owl House was one of the
biggest LGBT kid shows and had a romance plot between Luz and Amity and SU had
romance in it has well, Garnet is a symbol of Ruby's and Sapphire's love,
Pearl's undying love for Rose (they whole dynamic is messy with the power
imbalance at all. Fandoms in general have become obsessed with romance and
shipping even adding to shows that do not have it like TADC. The fandom is all
about who is kissing who and who is the top and bottom in bed when talking
about these characters instead of their actual character. I am aroace who is
romance-indifferent, but I fucking eat romance like a madman. Some of my
favorite books, (I kept bring up books because I actually read literature,
not fanfics. No hate towards fanfics writers but please engage in professional
writing occasionally). Openly Straight and Honestly Ben by Bill Konigsberg are
about the very messy relationship between Rafe and Ben, the One of Us Is Lying
series by Karen M. McManus has small moments of romance and other relationship
dynamics in the first book that falls into spoiler territory. Stolitz on paper
would have worked if Stolas' flaws were pointed out. Stolas calls Blitz pet
names, calling him his impish plaything, and fetishizing him for being an imp,
he was holding a book called 'Imps: in the sheets" at the end of Harvest
Moon.
Take the drawing of Blitz in his book. Blitz has hair similar to the wig he had on in Seeing Stars, has a muscular built, and is not drawn with his scars. His view of Blitz is distorted, he loves the idea of Blitz not him as a person. If Stolas truly loved Blitz, he would have drawn him how he actually looks. He even calls their relationship a 'fantasy', how is this romantic?
I already mentioned the book at the end of FM. It would be like a White man who is interested in a Black man starts was reading some bullshit book about big Black dicks are and how hypersexual Black man are. Stolas always mentions that Blitz is an imp like he gets off to the fact that he is one. For another real life example, it would be weird as shit to say 'you are a kinky little Latina' when you are about or thinking that you are going to have sex with that person.
Skipping the character design part at 19:00-25:06 because I REALLY want to make a breakdown video about the Hellaverse characters designs and skipping the Cursing and Sex Jokes section at the 25:07-27:40 mark because I do not really care. My issue with how swear words are used is unnatural with too many swears being added to a sentence and the sex jokes are just dick jokes which rarely funny but it is hard to produce new sex jokes. Hellaverse is not really all that funny when it comes to verbal humor anyway, the best joke to me is Niffty freezing up at the sight of a camera in episode one and again in episode eight when she is interviewed after killing Adam.
