I am surprised this poster as not becoming official merch yet. /j
I might be in sex-repulsed asexual, but I am a sex positive person. Kinks and BDSM are topics I like to do research on. Viv has said that she respects BDSM and its culture in one of her responses to the episode four backlash. Her saying "kinks do no harm" is laughable. Kinks can be harmful mentally if someone develops obsessive thoughts about it. Kinks can physically if done in an unsafe manner. CBT can cause testicular issues, sounding can cause infections, wax play can cause severe burns. Those kinks do fall under risk-aware consensual kink [RACK].
I am going to talk about Hazbin first. The first-time sexual actives are seen is during Happy Day in Hell where Charlie by mistakes seeing a dom having dry humping a sub. The sub has a gimp mask on with a ball gag in their mouth, the dom has a body and mouth harness on, and there are sex toys in the background. typical stuff. The dom has x nipple pasties, and the sub has their pants on which can look weird for an adult show on a huge streaming service. Pasties have a history in BDSM circles. Where in some public ventures or clubs, there can be policy that nudity has to be covered up when doing explicit sexual acts. It is unknown if this in a dungeon or club or in the privacy of their own home.
BDSM is showed again in episode three when Angel Dust brings the Hotel gang to a BDSM dungeon. Angel is right that BDSM is about trust. Mutal consent is important key to BDSM, came goes with save words. Back to the dungeon, typical BDSM items are shown. There are two imps playfully running around with one holding a spanking paddle with the three hearts which is a common design. Suspension bondage is showed with that cyan wolf hanging from the ceiling.
Charlie being uncomfortable during this scene has been criticized.
I have no issue with the idea of her being uncomfortable because she was put into a sexual environment with knowing beforehand. Given Vaggie's "What the actual fuck" reaction, this is probably the case. It would been nice to a line of her saying that she supports this lifestyle, but it is not for her, or she likes practicing BDSM but in the private and not with other people around.
The Hellaverse, men are allowed to be over the type sexual, but the woman do not get the same treatment. Charlie and Vaggie's relationship have been labeled being "sexless", it does not help that Vaggie telling Angel "What makes you think anyone would be into this?" Is Viv's [currently] only sapphic couple vanilla? That is lame.
I dislike the scene with Niffy being played as a joke, again woman being sexual in the shows is rare. Charlie becoming more uncomfortable when the members of the dungeon stated to surrounded her, which is 100% valid. She is in a monogamous relationship and said nothing about wanting to join.
In episode four is the first time we see a character naked during a non-consensual scene. We all known all the "films" Angel stars in that he does not consent them because his soul is own by Val.
These two background characters are a funny oddity. Where is this woman's ass crack? She looks like she got a diaper on. If I can see SpongeBob's whole ass, why not hers?
On the topic of Angel as a sex worker. I mentioned this time to time, but will he continue doing sex work [in a consensual manner of course] when he is redeemed and allowed into Heaven? We have not seen a lot of Heaven yet but if sex work does not exist in Heaven, that is a huge problem. Sex work is still being demonized in modern society. I am not saying the porn industry should not be criticize, it is a predatory industry. I dislike websites like Pornhub and support adults making their own content without the help of mangers [which are just pimps but just for the internet] or signing a contract with a porn studio. Whenever Angel gets into Heaven, I hope he is still a sex work and is finally allowed to have a healthy relationship with it.
Time to talk about Hazbin's sister show. When the second short, Mission: Antartica was released. The only thing fans were talking about how Blitz is a bad top or that hand sucking scene. Look, when people using the terms 'top' and 'bottom' is this fandom, it makes me cringe. It always gives me Seme and Uke vibes. Fans only use those terms when referring to the male character does not help.
I am going to share a section from Madeline Maye's video about Apology Tour.
Helluva has the warp mindset is that people who enjoy casual sex/hookups, are promiscuous, not in a monogamous committed relationship are bad at sex or broken people. In Mission: Antartica, Blitz is viewed as bad top because he is not a relationship like Moxxie and Millie's who are married. Blitz, the single person, had a hobby of stalking them and fantasizing about having a threesome with them. Blitz has trauma from destroying past relationships and in Ghostfuckers, he was in a depressive state due to losing he "relationship" he had with Stolas. Stolas and Blitz are seen as "end game" and if this show ends with Blitz becoming "happy" because he is a relationship with Stolas, that would be wack. Being in a romantic and/or sexual relationship will not solve your personal issues.
I am going to link pinkandpurple360's response to my original post. Ozzie being monogamous makes no sense because he is the King of Lust! He could be in a relationship with Fizz while having multiple partners. There are other different types of polyamorous relationships. In Full Moon, Blitz is shopping in Lust rings for some sex toys to spice up the bedroom. The Cherubs are horrified by what they see. I am crossing my fingers that the Cherubs are just prudes and that not all of Heaven is not like them.
